NetSuite now becomes a part of curriculum for the university in form of Purdue Industrial Distribution Program . Doing so, the University aims at preparing students with the skills needed to serve the industrial distribution industry worth $4 trillion.
NetSuite is considered the leader in on-demand business software suites and the fastest-growing software company in North America. Now the diversification comes by way of adding on to the curriculum in the Purdue University, one of the top two schools in the U.S. for industrial distribution.
NetSuite use in real-life warehouse setting - the Supply Chain Technology Management Laboratory – will help students gain hands-on experience using NetSuite for distributor management, CRM and E-commerce and would inculcate profitability management skills viz. the financial statement analysis, strategic planning, and sales forecasting.
Several aspects of Financial Transactions in Distribution, Purchasing, Inventory and Warehouse Management; and Industrial Sales and Sales Management, among others will be eventually benefit students through this Program.
Already, the University has completed one year of graduate level work and some introductions into the undergraduate curriculum for the Industrial Distribution Program using NetSuite in the Supply Chain Technology Management Laboratory. Although NetSuite’s case here may be strong but many education experts say that this action is biased creating a mindset of students in favour of one company. University heads will have to consider this aspect seriously is the call.
