FKI Logistex Wins Contract For Supply Of Baggage Handling System For Shanghai Pudong International Airport
FKI Logistex is a market leader in the domain of material handling solutions. It is reported that it has bagged a $40 million contract for the supply of baggage handling systems. The clients are Shanghai Pudong International Airport Terminal 2 in China. This project is slated for completion by 2007. It will cater to the growing passenger volume traveling through Pudong’s Terminal 2. It is estimated that the passenger volume will go up to 22 million by 2010. This will further increase to 40 million by 2015. FKI Logistex has recently also won contracts for baggage handling systems in Ho Chi Minh City, besides Vietnam and Sydney. Automation.com reports:
The new baggage handling system at Pudong Airport uses state-of-the-art baggage sorting technology, featuring three FKI Logistex S-3000E tilt-tray sporters, on e for domestic travel and two for international, each directed by bag tag barcode information. Pudong’s S-3000E sorters will also feature a manual encoding station for the review of non-readable tags.
